Tech Environment

Hello Fellow Science Lovers!

This week I have been tasked to check out some technological development environments.  I am actually already familiar with a few such as edpuzzle, smore, and postermywall.  I decided I would make an edpuzzle and create a circuits video showing the difference between a series circuit and a parallel circuit.  The way that it works is you find a video on youtube and you can do a voice over, record your own voice teaching the video and shorten the video as well.  Now, I was familiar with edpuzzle but had never made one and it seemed like it would be great for science.  Well after about 20 minutes I made the video the way I wanted it and created a class and everything.  It ended up not working because I wasn't able to confirm my email.  This frustrated me because I really liked my video.  Anyhow, I ended up finding a cool resource for my science teachers https://phet.colorado.edu/en/simulation/circuit-construction-kit-dc-virtual-lab
so not a total loss! Flipsnack seemed really neat, but once I got started, it quickly became complicated!
I ended up going with postermywall because a huge part of an educator's job is to keep parents up to date on what is going on in school.  Middle schoolers are not the greatest about telling their parents about all the cool events happening at school.  So, this week I made a quick, straight to the point virtual flyer for parents.
